I began my writing journey at seven when I submitted a story concept to Charles M. Schulz for the Peanuts franchise. While my idea didn’t make it into print, I was ecstatic when I received a Snoopy coloring sheet in the mail one day as a thank you. With that, an aspiring writer was born.
Many original plays, short stories, and the odd school Christmas pageant later, I talked my father into buying a word processor. Convinced the machine would unlock my potential, I started writing my first novel (I’m sure that unfinished manuscript is floating around on some floppy disk somewhere). The word processor may not have helped me write great fiction, but at least it got me through my college years. I earned a bachelor's degree in Theater Arts from UCLA and a master's degree in Communications Management from USC.
Shortly after college, I began working for Warner Bros. as a Television Research Analyst. I stayed with the studio for twenty-six years, climbing the ranks to Senior Vice President of Global Promotions for the Consumer Products division.
After nearly three decades as an entertainment marketer, I’m excited to call myself a full-time writer now. I’ve completed my first novel and the second is in the works.
I guess I have Charles M. Schulz to thank.
